Cultivating Biodiversity and Sustainable Gardening
Arnav at Hightstown, NJ
$1,500
After attending the inaugural NJ Climate Action Summit at The Watershed Institute in May 2024 and learning about Green Matters, Arnav got to work figuring out what kind of project he could do. Given his family’s love of gardening and being stewards of the soil, the idea didn’t take long to emerge. But initially, there were some gaps and he worked hard to incorporate feedback from Green Matters’ review committee who consequently gave the green light to give the grant. We are excited to see how his plan continues to evolve as he works with his local library to educate residents about the importance of planting native species, and with local elementary schools to show kids the wonders of nature in a simple potted plant!
